Guidelines for Credit Transfers between NCKU and Foreign Higher Education Institutions for Exchange Students
To facilitate students in participating academic exchange between NCKU and foreign educational institutions, guidelines for transferring course credits between NCKU and different credit systems are as followed:
1. One-credit at NCKU is defined as 1 lecture hour per week and at least for 18 hours in total per semester.
2. 1 NCKU credit = 2 ECTS credits in general (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System)
3. 1 NCKU= 4 CATS in general (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme)
4. NCKU credit system is equivalent to that of the United States, Japan, and China.
The transfer ratios are principally applicable. The final credit recognition is subject to the discretion of the offices in charge. This announcement has been made based on the relevant clauses of the NCKU Course Credit Waiver Regulations.
